Agreed. It would be very surprising if increased inequality increased the cancer survival rate at all. The graph is here only to show that cancer survival is not higher in more equal countries, something that some people apparently would not find surprising. The r-squared of .10 is fairly typical of 'correlations' with the other criteria though.
